In this course, students explore streaming platforms and analyze user traffic, viewership, communications, and sharing options. Students will work collaboratively in teams to conduct thorough research in identifying an appropriate streaming platform for online marketing, and prepare and present an online marketing plan designed for streaming platforms.

Accounting Diploma with Co-op

This course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to learn and become proficient Microsoft Office users. The course will focus on Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

In Outlook, students will learn to prepare emails and utilize various functions of Outlook for better electronic communication.

In Excel, students will learn to prepare and edit worksheets, using formulas and different functions offered in Excel to complete different tasks.

In Word, students will learn to edit and format documents to meet different standers. Finally, students will learn to create and give presentations using PowerPoint in a business setup.

This course provides students with a deep understanding of business writing––letters, reports, memoranda, e-mails and summaries––as well as training their reasoning and analytical skills through critical reading.

This statistics course is to give students an understanding of the role of statistics in business and commerce. It will become clear how pervasive the use of statistics has become and how essential the basic concepts are to modern business practice. Students will learn thoroughly the basics of data analysis and the fundamental notion of statistical inference.

The statistics in this course will provide the knowledge necessary to apply the basic techniques in a wide variety of circumstances and, perhaps more importantly, will enable students to assess the legitimacy and significance of the many and varied reports that we may come across in the future career. 

The course will enable students to understand and analyze the future impact of decisions throughout an organization. It will give you the necessary knowledge, tools, and skills to analyze problems logically, carry out mathematical operations, and investigate issues scientifically.

Financial Accounting-1 is designed for students who want to understand the accounting function of a business in the modern environment at the national or international level.

After completion of this course, students will have a solid knowledge of the accounting cycle, internal control, and taxes. Students will also have the ability to analyze and record simple business transactions, post transactions in relevant ledger accounts, estimate uncollectible, prepare payroll, and complete accounting cycle.

The Financial Accounting 1 course is a 4-week course with 25 hours of classroom learning per week. This course will be delivered and supervised by the expert in their field. Throughout the course, the instructor will use a variety of methods to disseminate and assess the learning of students. These methods include, but are not limited to lectures, exercises, in-class, and home assignments, midterm exams, and final exams.

The Financial Accounting 2 course is a continuum of Financial Accounting 1 and it expands the knowledge of accounting based on the structure of the balance sheet.

Spread on 4 weeks duration, Financial Accounting 2 is designed for the students who have completed Financial Accounting 1 and are familiar with basics concepts of accounting. The delivering method is similar to Financial Accounting 1 with experienced instructors and a variety of methods including lectures, exercises, assignments. 

The course will provide knowledge and skills in a series of modules to be delivered in the classroom. Upon completion of this course, students will have accounting knowledge, and skills related to calculating the amortization of bonds, manage the accounting of long-term assets, current liabilities, perform financial analysis using financial ratios, vertical and horizontal analysis, and more.

In Canada, employers are required to apply payroll deductions for income tax, old age pension and employment insurance. The main objective of this course is to give students a basic understanding of the Canadian payroll and taxation systems.

This course provides an overview of processing payroll calculation and administrating employee payroll. An important element of this course is the preparation of individual and business tax returns, and applying the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Accounting Software is critical in the current job market. This course will provide students with an opportunity to get equipped with the latest instruments used in the field of accounting. Most small businesses in Canada are using QuickBooks for accounting purposes. QuickBooks will provide the opportunity to create an output based on what they learned from the fundamental of financial accounting. 

Upon completion of this course, students will have a solid understanding of terminologies and concepts related to software accounting. In addition, this course will also equip students with skills to set up and close company, customer, and vendor accounts in QuickBooks, enter transactions for receivables and payables, create invoices and payroll, manage bank accounts and credit cards, and create financial statements.

Sage50 is one of the most widely used software in the field of bookkeeping and accounting in Canada. So far, students have learned the basics of financial accounting, managerial accounting, and other related areas. They have also gone through an accounting software QuickBooks that is largely being used by small and medium-size businesses in Canada. Sage50 will provide students with an opportunity to get equipped with more elaborative and detailed latest instruments used in the field of accounting. 

Upon completion of this course, students will have a solid understanding of the Sage50 structure. This course will also equip students with skills to set up, adjust, and close company, customer, vendor, and payroll accounts, enter transactions for receivables and payables, create inventory transactions in Sage50, complete bank transactions, and create financial statements.

This is an introductory course relating to key concepts and practices of management accounting with emphasis on decision-making. The main objective is to help students relate management accounting decisions to the company’s success. Topics include cost accounting fundamentals, costing methods, cost-volume-profit analysis, budgeting and control, and information for management control and decision analysis. Student will be able to apply most of the concept learned in previous accounting and finance courses.

In this introductory course on corporate finance, students learn how financial professionals make major decisions. It includes a wide range of topics including interest rates, budgeting, estimating cash flow, dividends, derivatives, working capital and financial planning.

Macroeconomics deals with large-scale or general economic factors, such as interest rates, monetary policy and national productivity. This course covers concepts like Gross Domestic/National Product, employment, inflation, stabilization policies, money, banking and international trade.

Managing one’s own business as manager or working at the workplace as an employee, has a number of aspects that should be taken care of from the legal perspective. If these aspects have not been taken care of properly, it may harm the business with a number of liabilities and can possibly result in the shutdown of business or incur personal liabilities.

The course on Business Law in Canada introduces the basics of business law to students to prepare them for business problems relating to legal issues. This course highlights the key policies, rights, responsibility and regulations most concerned in today’s business world. Upon completion of this course, students will have a solid understanding of business law in Canada and the Canadian legal system.

Students will be able to distinguish the difference between Federal and Provincial legislative structure, understand the contract law, its elements, formations, terms, and conditions and justify stipulation/conditions of enforcement and non-enforcement, and knowledge of in-court and out-of-court dispute resolution options.

Business Administration Diploma with Co-op

Managerial communication is designed to help students appreciate the importance of effective communication. The course focuses on written, verbal and nonverbal communication so that students are able to assess their audience, interpret body language and communicate inter-culturally. Students will enhance their written and communication skills through writing business reports and various types of messages.

In Word, students will learn to edit and format documents to meet different standers. Finally, students will learn to create and give presentations using PowerPoint in a business setup. 

This is one of the core courses of the business administration program. It gives students an overall view of the theoretical and practical concepts of an organization’s management: planning, organization, leadership and control.

Managing people is one of the most important functions of a business. This course gives students the practical and effective methods for recruitment, training & measuring performance. Students learn how different organizations use different types of recruitment and performance management methods as well as employee retention strategies.

This introduction to Canadian business law focuses on writing contracts, what makes a contract valid and the legal responsibilities of a business. The course will also elaborate on different methods of establishing a business and legal issues related to employment.

 

Organizational behaviour is a core program in which students learn how to deal with people on a personal and organizational level. The course is structured to help students understand how personalities affect organizations and how organizational cultures are shaped. They learn about different leadership styles and self-improvement techniques.

Students learn how to build long-term profitable relationships with consumers. Students will be expected to complete a full market research for a potential product or service, select a pricing strategy and choose the best communication and delivery methods.

Students acquire hands-on experience performing all aspects of an accounting cycle:  journalize transactions, create a trial balance, close accounts and create financial statements. This course is a prerequisite for the finance course.

Finance for managers is designed to help students make decisions based on financial statements using financial ratios, assessing organizational risks and evaluating opportunities. Students will learn concepts such as, valuation of financial securities and maximizing shareholder value.

In this advanced course, students build long-term business plans. Students will analyze cases and research and present concepts learned in class.

Managerial economics is a course designed to shape students’ thinking by incorporating internal and external economic factors. The course focuses on concepts such as supply and demand, production costs and market structures. Students study these theories and their application. Students will also learn how to calculate start-up operational costs and profit margins.

The main objective of this course is to provide basic understanding of Canadian payroll and taxation system. Students will learn an overview of the requirements for processing payroll calculation and administrating the payroll to employees, government agencies and other parties in compliance with Canadian laws, regulations, and contractual arrangements.

International Business Management introduces students to theories regarding international trade, methods for assessing the global environment, economics and political systems. Students will compare global market entry methods and types of direct foreign investment. Students will also receive tools to compare and measure multiple aspects of different cultures.

Hospitality Management Diploma with Co-op

This course examines the organization and structure of hotels, restaurants, casinos, cruise lines, and clubs from a management perspective. It includes information on franchising, management contracts, business ethics, human resources, marketing and much more.

This course introduces the supervision and management skills that are essential to success. Topics include how to recruit, select, and train staff; increase productivity; control labour costs; communicate effectively; manage conflict and change; and apply time management techniques.

This course is designed to demonstrate to students how to keep a hotel property running efficiently. The course takes a systematic approach to hospitality facilities issues, while also providing a summary based on functional spaces within a property. You will learn how technology can streamline operations procedures, how to balance environmental concerns with guest satisfaction, and how to communicate effectively with a hotel engineering personnel. 

This course presents basic financial accounting concepts and shows you how they apply to the hospitality industry. This course incorporates the most recent formats, information, and schedules form the newly-published Uniform Systems of Accounts for the Lodging Industry. 

Students will come away from this course with the skills to maximize sales growth and front office efficiency because the front office affects other departments. Topics include revenue management and the latest computer applications. Students will examine case studies and real-world examples to gain a practical industry focus.

This course provides a thorough overview of housekeeping––from the big picture of planning and organization and the hiring and retention of staff to the technical details of cleaning each area of the hotel. Also featured are industry experts who will present real-life examples and practical information.

This course teaches the student how to plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of a food and beverage operation: building a business through effective marketing strategies, satisfying the nutritional demands of guests, and increasing profits by maximizing service and productivity.

This course will introduce you to the diversity of the global hospitality industry. Students will be presented with an overview of the scope of the hospitality industry within a particular country, and explore major human resource issues as practiced in that destination. You will learn from industry leaders on the perspectives and topics that include labour market issues, legal and political environments, social work values, and corporate cultures.

No-Code Development & UI / UX Diploma with Co-op

This course focuses on providing students with web design and web development fundamentals. This course includes an introduction to Computing, Web design, Mobile Design, Web Development and Mobile Development. In this course, students will learn HyperText Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), methods to set up local servers and development platforms, and responsive design concepts, web domains, web hosting, and web management. It also introduces the graphic design principles to the students and covers topics such as form, typography, type styles, color theory and their applications in user interface and user experience design. The course’s objective is to help the student acquire foundation knowledge for the upper-level design and development courses. 

At the end of the class, the students will be knowledgeable about:

  • Understanding the foundations of design and development
  • Problem-solving with design tools and techniques

In this course, students will learn the best practices for design fundamentals across media, producing results suitable for web, mobile applications, and other interactive environments.  Lectures and readings will lay out the fundamental concepts that underpin design as a human activity. Weekly design challenges test your ability to apply those ideas to solve real problems. Students will learn how to present the client’s message or objective in a manner that resonates with the target audience and enhances overall interaction and usability. 

The emphasis of the course is the basic design process: define, explore, select, and refine. The Introduction of Design course focuses on the basic design process and provides a solid foundation for delivering interactive and engaging content for web and mobile applications. Students will have hands-on practice developing a series of conceptual projects that demonstrate their work towards creating a website in collaboration with other courses in this program.

This course includes an introduction of HTML, CSS, Sass, bootstrap and Git Hub, Web Site design using HTML, CSS, and Sass bootstrap and Mobile Site design using HTML, CSS, and Sass bootstrap. Students will learn the theory and practice of design and layout to visualize and develop problem-solving ideas and render effective content using the principles of design, typography, and color in layouts for print and web products. 

Paper based documentation, as well as very basic use of Illustrator or InDesign, will be utilized to complete projects from brainstorming to final presentations. Students will be assessed by a combination of quizzes, group and individual projects. Students will learn the concept of design systems and how they are used in designing computer applications for varying platforms.

By understanding the power and limitations of Interface Design and User Experience tools and how to work with them, students will evaluate prototyping systems that use effective design principles to receive user feedback. This course focuses on building UI elements using various design applications. Students will be introduced to the guidelines for building UI elements, utilize their knowledge in several design applications to create UI components and finally export them in the proper formats. Students will be evaluated by a series of assignments and term projects.

In this course, students will learn how to use motion to visually present an idea or explain complex information. They will utilize text layers, vector artwork, and raster images into their projects, animating them across time and 2D or 3D space. The importance of proper pacing will be emphasized. Variant techniques, such as masking, effects, and color correction will be introduced as methods to enhance the animation. Students will showcase their understanding of the course’s topics by completing individual assignments, as well as working in teams in a final project.

In this course students learn to use the fundamentals of the Wix Dashboard to promote the business and manage the website and also learn to use the WordPress dashboard to install and customize existing WordPress themes, add and activate plug-ins, and modify widgets to quickly and efficiently develop template driven websites. 

In this course, students will learn the ins and outs of the Wix Editor, build layouts and site structures, add elements and create galleries, interactions, animations and videos. Plus, students will also learn best practices for making your website mobile-friendly to reach a wider audience.

Students will convert HTML websites into WordPress templates and integrate WordPress with custom websites as a Content Management System. Students will install WordPress on a local host and migrate content between local and hosted servers; and look behind the scenes of a functioning website to examine concepts such as cPanel, database creation, and phpMyAdmin to set up and manage their own hosted WordPress website. The course will be delivered through a series of video notes.

This course includes an Introduction to Bubble and Web Development for Bubble. In this course, students will learn how to build apps without code. Bubble is a visual programming language, a no-code development platform and an application platform as a service. By learning this, students do not need to type code to build web applications including social media sites like Twitter, marketplaces like Airbnb and Uber, services like Instacart, and more through study.  Students can learn how to create websites and web applications with more advanced functionality.

In digital marketing, UI design helps build interactive, functional and visually attractive interfaces in different digital marketing channels, such as websites, apps in mobile devices, blog pages, and more. This module introduces core topics in digital marketing that could help UI/UX designers better design products. Also, the course covers some core topics in digital marketing such as SEO, content strategy, content creation and content distribution.

Students will work in the team towards a project to come up with a portfolio to use UI design to influence branding. Students will learn how to create a user-friendly experience for the end user. This means that the UI must be easy to understand and use and must be responsive to the user’s input to increase engagement and conversion rates.

At the end of the course, the students will be knowledgeable about:

  • Running user experience studies on social media
  • Collecting user’s feedback on UI/UX decisions

UI/UX designs are informed and impacted by the product decision made by the product manager. It is beneficial if the UI/UX designer can understand the reasoning behind such products decisions. This course is an introductory course to product management and responsibilities of product management and particularly the communication between the product manager and the UI/UX designers.

At the end of the course, the students will be knowledgeable about:

  • Developing stages in product design
  • Covering product evaluation and assessment

香港 Stream A 申請 5 大 常見問題

因加拿大政府審理文件需要時間,移民局會因應申請數量調整審理時間。因此建議收到學校錄取通知(Letter Of Acceptance)後開始申請。
加拿大IRCC移民局容許國際留學生於在學期間工作,不過每星期只限工作二十小時。學簽上有列明該持有人可否工作及相關限制,學生應詳閱學簽列明細項作依歸
年齡絕不是導致拒簽的原因,在學簽及Stream A政策中,加拿大政府並未對申請人提出年齡限制。 申請人只需要在Study plan 中表達與原原居地有足夠連繫及充足的資金証明。
申請人需在申請日前過去三年內在加拿大政府認可的院校(DLI)畢業,授課時間最少50%的需在加拿大,包括親身或境內網上授課。
私立及公立DLI學院(College) 都受加拿大各省政府政府認可教育機構,合法向本地及留學生提供各類型學術及專業技術課程。

一般私立DLI課程價錢較公立便宜約一半及更快審批Letter of Acceptance(LOA),部份私立學院更附帶線上學習和有薪實習,適合家庭,單身年青人及英語能力一般學生報讀。
